Chadansu (Japanese tea cabinet) C0871

An old chadansu (Japanese tea cabinet).

Harako (hair-on calf leather) has been applied to the door panels for a distinctive texture. The body keeps the character of its scratches and other marks, and is polished with wax for a sheen. The upper right and lower left doors are kendon-type (lift-and-drop doors). At the bottom are two drawers, and the drawer bottoms have been replaced with new material. There are fine scratches and cracks in the back panel.
