Paulownia cabinet G0392

A cabinet reimagined from an old paulownia tansu.

The door panels were changed to glass, and the body is lifted on newly made legs.
Where the body meets the legs, brass pipes and wooden parts create a gap that adds lightness.

The wood, whose tonoko (powder-based) finish had deteriorated, was sanded and finished in two tones with dark and light wax. The grain is kept visible and a moist sheen is added, bringing out the character of paulownia.

Structural areas such as loose joints have been repaired, and the sliding doors, drawers and hinged doors have been adjusted.
One key for the drawers is included (shared by both drawers).

As this is an old piece, it has fine scratches and signs of age.
