Fur tansu (Japanese chest of drawers) F0170

An old antique tansu in paulownia, reimagined.

The body is finished in long-pile, voluminous faux fur.
The soft fur is fluffy, with a texture that makes you want to stroke it.

The legs were newly made from an old single-board zataku.
The design is inspired by the kibana (carved beam ends) of temple and shrine architecture and by torii gates.

After more than a hundred years, it has been reborn in a distinctive new look while keeping its Japanese character.
