Iwayado Tansu D0382

Antique Tansu chest.

Iwayado Tansu is famous as a traditional chest that has transcended history and is still produced today.

This antique Tansu is a valuable vintage piece of Iwayado Tansu.

Scratches, stains, and cracks resulting from aging have been left as they are to preserve their character.

The front is made of zelkova, and the main body is made of solid cedar wood.

It is a deep model, measuring approximately 60 cm in depth.

Structural issues, such as looseness at the joints, have been repaired.

The interior surfaces of the drawers have been sanded and cleaned as much as possible.

The drawer movement has been adjusted, and they open and close without any issues.

This Tansu comes with one original key from that time.

The locking hardware on the second drawer from the top on the left side is faulty and cannot be used.

All other sections can be locked without issue.

If you remove the two long, narrow drawers inside the lower-right cabinet door (game-do) and pull the center partition toward you, there is a hidden box in the back. (Please refer to the images.)

The unit consists of two stacked sections, so it can be separated for transport.
