Zelkova and Japanese cedar chadansu (Japanese tea cabinet) B0967

A chadansu in zelkova and Japanese cedar.

Long years have passed since this chadansu was made, and it carries scratches and stains that came unintentionally with daily life. They are kept as part of the original design and sealed in a thick, clear coating.

The back panel and the drawer bottoms, which were badly damaged, have been replaced. The drawers and sliding doors have been adjusted.

The characterful look that cannot be made by hand, such as scratches, stains and rusted fittings, is left as it is. Many layers of clear urethane were applied over it, finishing the surface smooth.

There is a ninja on the left side panel. It is sealed in the coating as well.
