Full moon kodansu (Japanese small chest) B1062

A tansu with a distinctive texture, from the raised grain of paulownia.
A circle of harako (hair-on calf leather) on the front gives it a distinctive character.
Against the paulownia front panels, the white circle looks just like the moon.
With seven drawers, large and small, it is also very practical.
Paulownia, harako and moderately rusted black metal fittings go together exceptionally well.
