Paulownia kodansu (Japanese small chest) B0456

A small paulownia tansu clad in a black as if soaked deep in sumi ink.

After adjusting all the drawers to move smoothly, the whole surface was prepared and painted black. The black paint is applied so that the grain of the paulownia can still be seen. The metal fittings and the insides of the drawers are also finished in black.

The sides of the drawers are finished in fluorescent pink, which shows only when they are opened. The unexpected pink appearing from the sumi-black body makes opening and closing the drawers a pleasure.
