Cross hardware kasanedansu (Japanese chest-on-chest) B0740
A kasanedansu (Japanese chest-on-chest) with cross-shaped metal fittings.
Many years have passed since this tansu was made, and the scratches and stains that came, unintended, from everyday life have been kept as part of its original design, sealed in a thick, clear coating.
The rich, characterful look that cannot be made artificially is left as it is, and layers of clear urethane paint have been applied over it many times to make the surface smooth. The drawers and sliding doors have been adjusted. The metal fittings have a keyhole, but there is no key.
This kasanedansu is built with the upper section resting on the lower section, and it can be separated into upper and lower parts. When moving it in, the two parts can be carried separately. No tools are needed to separate them.
