Black-painted tsuitate (Japanese single-panel screen) C1131

An old single-board tsuitate (Japanese single-panel screen), remade. After cleaning the whole piece, it was finished with black paint. Its rugged look is very powerful.

The legs are single boards inserted from above into notches, and are removable. The thickness and shape of the board vary from place to place, so the legs can only be inserted at around the positions shown in the photos. Seen from the front, the legs are slightly off center.
